About Me

After a busy year navigating the bustling corridors of corporate life, I booked a getaway to a health resort.  I envisioned leisurely days by the pool, with a refreshing pina colada in hand. Instead, I discovered a reality far from my expectations: 6 AM exercise sessions and invigorating cold plunges in a creek! This unexpected retreat was more than just a physical challenge—it was a profound awakening.

While my background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Sydney and a career that spanned lab work with nutrition for performance animals, marketing, sales, and business development for medicines, this experience marked a turning point. Despite my understanding of the medical model’s role in preventing illness, I realised it fell short in fostering true wellness.

I began to see that genuine health requires more than just avoiding sickness; it demands creating the optimal conditions for our bodies to heal themselves. Good health is more than just the physical, it depends on harmony with the emotional, spiritual, social and mental dimensions, too. My journey observing the patient experience reinforced this belief, revealing that proactive health and wellness should start long before we need medicine.

With little personal connection to natural health practitioners and a scant few in my circle who had explored this path, I recognised a void. Our great grandmothers possessed a wealth of knowledge about healing from the garden, a wisdom I felt compelled to preserve and adapt for today’s world.

I’m dedicated to bridging the gap between ancient, traditional natural medicine and modern health concerns. Building on a foundation of a Bachelor of Health Science in Western Herbal Medicine, a life of learning remains ahead of me. My mission is to keep this invaluable knowledge alive for our generation and beyond, guiding others towards a more holistic approach to health by sharing the ancient wisdom of healing. My vision is that all people have a herbalist they can call on and know the simple healing power of plants.
